September, 2003
Sister Gene visited us for six days from September 15th
through September 21st. A good time was had by all!
Labor Day Weekend, 2003
Dina, Bob, Jordan, Alex, Zack, and Natalie Ogden spent
the week before Labor Day at the Naber's home at Nick Pond. John and
Mary were also there for a few days as were Michelle and Jim. The
Ogden crew are beautiful and active children and they had fun riding
their scooters on the driveway, especially down the steep ramp to the
Little Barn. We had a lot of fun visiting with them. They also
caught a lot of fish from the Naber's deck and from the boat. It's
always great to have them here.

Our good friend Bill Grimes passed away suddenly last
night in Tucson, Arizona. He was only 70 years old. Bill and
his wife Dotty were neighbors in Phoenixville before they moved to Arizona
in the early 1980s. We have remained good friends even though we
were separated by the great distance. We visited them in Arizona and
they were here to visit at Nick Pond in September of 2000. They were
also RVers and we met in various places around the country including Palm
Springs, Mesa Verde National Park and in New Mexico. We had a lot of great
times together. Bill had a robust laugh and a great sense of humor.
He could do anything from replacing a leaking water heater (in our
Phoenixville house while we were away at a meeting) to making beautiful
jewelry. We were the beneficiaries of a lot of pieces of that
jewelry and we will treasure them always. Whenever we were able to
get together, it felt like we had never been apart. We will miss
talking to him on the phone and seeing him when we could. We talked
many times with Bill and Dotty about going to Alaska together, but that
was never to be. We will dedicate our trip this summer to Bill and
know that in many ways, he and Dotty will be with us.

April 24, 2003
We had some Waymart Class of 59 friends over for lunch
and a visit. We enjoyed the visit with Sandy, Jane and Dotty.
John and Mary Naber joined us for lunch. The non Waymart group
(John, Mary and Marlene) enjoyed hearing the stories about growing up in
Waymart. After lunch, Sandy and Dotty had a wild ride on the Ranger
with Paul to see the dam and some more of the property.

March 29, 2003 Michelle and Jim were up for the weekend. What a
cute couple they make. John and Mary Naber were also at their
mountain home for the weekend. We ate a lot of seafood for dinner
Saturday night. We had lobster, steamed clams, shrimp and stuffed
clams. A good time was had by all. |
